ZUG, Switzerland – OMNIA Global today announced the activation of a 60 MW / 120 MWh standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) in Braşov, Romania, marking the third project delivered under its strategic cooperation with Nuvve Holding Corp. (NASDAQ: NVVE) in less than two weeks.
“Our pipeline exists because we prioritise the development work – securing grid access, completing due diligence, and structuring projects to a ready-to-build standard before introducing them into a commercial platform. The Braşov project is the third demonstration of that in under two weeks. Romania is a market we know deeply, and the revenue dynamics for grid-scale storage are among the most attractive in Europe.”
– Daniel Hansen, CEO, OMNIA Global
With this addition, OMNIA Global has now activated more than 150 MW of BESS capacity across Sweden, Austria, and Romania under its partnership with Nuvve, with all projects targeting commercial operation in 2026.
Rapid Execution Across a Mature Pipeline
The pace of deployment reflects the maturity and scale of OMNIA’s European development portfolio. At the time of entering the cooperation agreement, OMNIA had already established a pipeline exceeding 700 MW across 16 projects spanning Austria, Romania, and Bulgaria, at advanced stages of development and due diligence.
The Swedish, Austrian, and Romanian projects share a consistent profile:
- Secured grid access and site control
- Contracted EPC structures
- Defined routes to market and revenue optimization
- Targeted commercial operation within 2026
This repeatable development model enables rapid conversion of pipeline into operational, revenue-generating infrastructure.
Scaling a High-Margin European Platform
The addition of the Romanian project further strengthens a multi-country platform designed to capture value across Europe’s most attractive ancillary service and balancing markets.
Current market dynamics support estimated revenue potential ranging from:
- ~$250,000 per MW per year in established Western European markets
- Up to $500,000 per MW per year in higher-yield markets such as Romania
Under the partnership structure:
- Nuvve provides grid aggregation, optimization, and market access services
- OMNIA leads origination, structuring, and project delivery
- Nuvve earns a 9% aggregation fee and holds a Right of First Refusal (ROFR) to acquire each asset
This framework enables OMNIA to efficiently scale deployment while maintaining strategic flexibility across ownership and monetization pathways.
About the Braşov BESS Project
The Braşov project is a 60 MW / 120 MWh standalone BESS designed to serve Romania’s balancing and ancillary service markets, with commercial operation targeted for Q4 2026.
Key project attributes include:
- Capacity: 60 MW / 120 MWh
- Location: Braşov, Romania – a critical node within the national transmission network
- Development Status: Binding offer submitted; advancing toward ready-to-build
- Market Positioning: Exposure to high-value balancing and ancillary service markets
- Revenue Optimization: Participation across Romanian FCR, aFRR, and balancing mechanisms
- Commercial Structure: Integration into Nuvve’s aggregation platform with consulting and fee-based revenue model
Romania represents one of the most compelling markets in continental Europe for battery storage, driven by accelerating renewable penetration and increasing demand for grid stabilization.
European BESS Portfolio Overview
OMNIA Global’s activated portfolio under the Nuvve partnership now includes:
| Project | Country | Capacity | Planned COD |
| Swedish Project | Sweden | 50 MW / 75–100 MWh | Q2 2026 |
| Energiepark Graphit | Austria | 40 MW / 80 MWh | Q3 2026 |
| Braşov Project | Romania | 60 MW / 120 MWh | Q4 2026 |
| Total | 150+ MW / 300+ MWh |
Leadership Perspective
“Three projects across three countries in under two weeks is not incidental – it reflects a pipeline that was built for execution. What matters is not only the speed, but the underlying economics. We are deploying into markets that support strong, recurring revenues from day one, and Romania will be a key contributor to that platform.”
– Daniel Hansen, CEO, OMNIA Global
